The Film Gallery is very pleased to announce the inaugural exhibition of 2024: ARCANA LUCIS ET UMBRAE (DEDICATIONS), a fresh solo exhibition of Marc Plas (b. 1959, France). Featuring eleven representative installations and videos created by the artist between 2006 and 2023, the exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of Marc Plas' evolution while paying homage to a number of fellow artists and musicians who have profoundly influenced his experimental journey throughout the years.

The exhibition ARCANA LUCIS ET UMBRAE (DEDICATIONS) is set to open on Saturday, January 20, 2024, and will run until Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Marc Plas (b. 1959, France) currently lives and works in Paris. His artistic practice spans a wide spectrum, encompassing the creation of mixed media pieces, video installations, films, performances, as well as engaging in photography, painting, and drawing. He co-directed the feature film L'Intervalle (2005), and is also dedicated to making documentaries. Since 2018, he has been teaching courses on the aesthetics of cinema and audiovisual media at the UFR Arts, Philosophy, Aesthetics of the University Paris 8 Saint-Denis.

Marc Plas (n. 1959, France) vit et travaille actuellement à Paris. Son domaine artistique englobe la création de pièces intermédia, d'installations vidéo, de films, de performances, ainsi que la pratique de la photographie, de la peinture et du dessin. Il a co-réalisé un film de long métrage, L'Intervalle (2005) et se consacre également à la réalisation de films documentaires. Depuis 2018, il enseigne l'esthétique du cinéma et de l'audiovisuel à l’UFR Arts, Philosophie, Esthétique de l'Université Paris 8 Saint-Denis.
